Concord Defeated at Bearcat/Fleet Tournament

Due West/Greenwood S.C. – The Concord University softball team lost three games at the Bearcat/Fleet Tournament Saturday.

Game 1: Lenoir-Rhyne 10 – Concord 1
Sophomore Pitcher Nancy-Jo Roberts took the loss in the circle as she finished the game with one strikeout. Sophomore infielder Kylee Stacy ended the game with two hits while freshman infielder Lacie Lewis, sophomore infielder Courtney Raines, sophomore outfielder Delaney Fulk, and junior outfielder Imani Campbell finished the game with one hit each.

Concord's run came in the third inning on the first career home run by Lewis.

Game 2: USC Beaufort 6 – Concord 5
The Mountain Lions moved along to play against USC Beaufort which ended up being a battle to the finish.

In the first inning after getting two runners on to start, senior catcher/outfielder Mikayah Pulliam homered to left center field giving the Mountain Lions a three-run lead. After the Pulliam home run, Concord didn't score again until the fourth inning. Down 6-3, senior catcher/first baseman Jolie Privett put the Mountain Lions back on the board with a solo home run.

Going into the sixth, the Mountain Lions—still down by two—loaded the bases for Raines to hit a sacrifice fly scoring Lewis.

A double in the seventh inning from freshman catcher Morgan Gleason pushed the tying run into scoring position, but USC Beaufort was able to strand the runner at second base.

Sophomore pitcher/outfielder Rachael Koller and Roberts both saw the circle with Koller throwing one inning and Roberts tossing five. Concord finished the game with seven players getting hits with Stacy's three hits pacing the effort. Pulliam ended the game with three RBI.

Game 3: Lander 8 – Concord 0
The Mountain Lions headed to Greenwood S.C. and Lander's campus for their third and final game.

Going into the fourth, the game was still tied 0-0 when the Bearcats opened up the scoring with two runs and then adding six more in the fifth. The Mountain Lions were held to just one hit by Stacy. Roberts took the loss in the circle while striking out three Bearcat batters.
