CRUCIAL CONTEST
Concord, Charleston and Davis & Elkins all begin the weekend at 3-2 in conference play as the trio of teams sit three games behind West Virginia State who is 5-0 versus the MEC. The Mountain Lions have defeated West Virginia State two previous times at home, including a 4-1 win last year. Fifth-year senior forward Leah Foster recorded a five-point game at WVSU last fall, and had a hat trick against the Yellow Jackets in the spring 2021 season. Foster is coming off a three-point contest versus Glenville State Wednesday night. Her next point will break the career record for points at CU with 133.  Senior midfielder Michelle Brogden has scored a goal in two of her last three games versus WVSU.

ROAD WARRIORS
Dating back to the 2019 season, the Mountain Lions are unbeaten in their last 21 road games, sporting a record of 19-0-2. In the brief five-game series history with West Virginia State, Concord has a goal difference of +8 in road games as opposed to be even in goals in home games. CU looks to avenge a loss from September 7 against WVSU. The Yellow Jackets snapped Concord's 22-game regular-season conference winning streak earlier this month.

QUICK TURNAROUND
Just 11 days will have passed between Concord and Charleston meeting as the Mountain Lions grabbed a 1-0 win over UC September 18. Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Leah Marsh collected her 23rd career shutout at Charleston before backing it up with a clean sheet Wednesday against Glenville State. Sophomore midfielder Leah Fleming tallied her second game-winning goal of the season at UC. Concord defeated Charleston 2-0 at home last season with Foster scoring in the 31st minute. Brogden assisted on both goals. Foster has at least one point in four straight games versus the Golden Eagles.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE AT A GLANCE
Overall Record: 7-0
MEC Record: 5-0
Home Record: 4-0
Away Record: 3-0

SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
WVSU is receiving votes in the Division II National Poll as it one of two remaining undefeated teams in the MEC, along with Frostburg State. Fran Soares-Cupertino is tied for third in Division II in goals with 10. Esther Dhiramo and Brooklyn Pritt have six and five goals, respectively. West Virginia State came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat UC Wednesday, 2-1.

CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
Overall Record: 3-4
MEC Record: 3-2
Home Record: 1-3
Away Record: 2-1

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
The loss to West Virginia State sent Charleston below .500. Two of the three wins for UC this season have come away from home. The Golden Eagles play Glenville State Sunday with a chance to even their record before traveling to face Concord. Charleston held Concord to nine shots last Sunday which is six fewer than its next lowest output of the fall. However, UC was limited to eight shots in the game, and five on goal.
