BOUNCING BACK
The Mountain Lions snapped a brief two-game skid by picking up a 5-1 road win against West Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday. Sophomore forward
Jayme Millard notched CU's first hat trick of the season with three second-half goals. In the process, Millard became the seventh player under head coach
Luke Duffy, in his seventh season at Concord, to secure a hat trick. Fifth-year senior forward
Leah Foster assisted on CU's first goal as she moved within five points of breaking the program record for career points. She sits at 128 career points. After not scoring in her first 37 career game, junior defender
Olivia Bekeleski scored for a second straight game by netting a second-half goal at WVWC.
ROAD WARRIORS
Concord has won four consecutive game against Charleston on the road including a 3-2 win last season in early October. The Mountain Lions were pushed as they took a 2-0 lead early in the second half before UC scored two goals in 72 seconds to tie the game. However, senior midfielder
Courtney Smith assisted on the game-winning goal in the 62
nd minute. Smith has four career points in two games at Charleston. Foster has at least one point in all four career games at UC. The four-game road winning streak against the Golden Eagles matches the longest road winning streak for either team in the 33-game series. UC won four straight at Concord from 2013-16.
MIXING IT UP
While Millard is tied for second in the MEC in goals this season, Concord had its seventh goal scorer of the season in five games at West Virginia Wesleyan. Freshman midfielder
Jessica Neville slotted home her first career goal on assists by redshirt freshman midfielder
Reeanna Cook and Foster. Freshman midfielder
Hannah Case and Cook became the seventh and eighth CU players to pick up assists this season at Wesleyan. Case's assist came on the final goal of the game as Millard completed her hat trick.
