WHEELING, W.Va. – The Concord University men's cross country team finished second at the Mountain East Conference Championship Saturday morning at Oglebay Resort.
Concord scored 55 points as Charleston won the MEC Championship with a total of 29 points.
Graduate student
Issac Prather repeated the individual MEC Champion and MEC Runner of the Year as he coasted to a time of 25:36 on the 8,000-meter course. He won by 31 seconds over Emeric Arnaud of Davis & Elkins.
Junior
Preston Prather made his way onto the All-MEC First team by finishing sixth in a showing of 26:43. Sophomore
Logan Zuchelli crossed in 14
th as he stopped the clock at 27:49 to earn All-MEC Second Team. Graduate student
Cedric Drennen was two spots and eight seconds back of Zuchelli as he landed on the All-MEC Second Team. And junior
Caleb Hatcher grabbed 19
th in a time of 27:42 to make All-MEC Second Team for a second straight season.
Senior
Alex Watty was 30
th in a time of 28:28. Sophomore
Ethan Board crossed in 35
th with a showing of 28:43. Freshman
Alex Irvin clocked 29:18 to place 44
th. Sophomore Zack Wilson came through in 30:36 to finish 54
th while fellow sophomore

Fairmont State newcomer Darrell DeMoss was the MEC Freshman of the Year. Charleston's Nick Bias was the MEC Coach of the Year.
Prather is the first repeat conference champion for Concord in program history, and just the second two-time MEC Champion, joining Jason Weitzel (2016, 2018).
The Mountain Lions compete at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championship November 19 in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.
