CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Concord University men's cross country team was impressive in a fourth-place finish at the Royals Challenge at McAlpine Park Friday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions scored 104 and was just 10 points out of second place.
Graduate student
Issac Prather won a race at McAlpine Park for the second straight year as he crossed in 24:22 for the 8,000-meter. Sophomore
Logan Zuchelli clocked under 25 minutes as he crossed in 24:53 to finish 15
th. Junior
Preston Prather was two spots behind as finished in 24:56.
Graduate student
Cedric Drennen placed 32
nd as he stopped the lock in 25:16.
Junior
Caleb Hatcher completed the scoring for CU with a 63
rd-place finish, and a time of 25:54. The field on Friday featured 257 runners.
Sophomore
Ethan Board finished in 26:19 as he placed 83
rd. Senior
Alex Watty ran a time of 27:33 and freshman
Alex Irvin had a showing of 27:46.
Sophomore
Bryce Legg (31:50), sophomore
Luke Ruhnke (32:59) and
Madoc Lathroum (35:30) rounded out the Concord runners.
CU has a two-week break until it races at the Bill Lennox Invite hosted by Slippery Rock October 22.
