SURGING AT THE RIGHT TIME
The Mountain Lions enter Tuesday's contest having gone unbeaten in their last six games (5-0-1) and only losing once during the month of October. Concord downed Glenville State Sunday afternoon to clinch the second seed in the MEC South Division with 32 points for the season. It marks the fourth straight season that CU collected 30 or more points in MEC play. Sophomore forward Nora Voisey recorded her first career hat trick Sunday, becoming the seventh player in the last six years with a hat trick. Also on the list are teammates Rachel Bell, Leah Foster and Jayme Millard.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE
Tuesday will be the fourth all-time meeting in the conference tournament between Concord and Charleston (2004, 2005, 2018, 2022). When the teams met in the First Round of the MEC Tournament in 2018, CU secured a 4-2 win to move to 3-0 versus Charleston in conference tournament matchups. Foster scored twice in the second half, including the eventual game-winning goal in the 53rd minute. Foster has five career goals versus Charleston. Additionally, Foster is the only current Mountain Lion to appear in the 2018 MEC Tournament game. The winner of Tuesday's game plays the winner of the Frostburg State-Wheeling quarterfinal 4:00 p.m. Friday.

LOOKING FOR HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
CU is seeking to end a string of road teams winning in the series between the Mountain Lions and Charleston. Dating back to the 2021 spring season, the road team has won five of the last six matchups with Concord's 2-0 win at home last year being the lone time the home team has been victorious. Earlier this fall, Concord downed Charleston on the road 1-0 behind a second-half goal from sophomore midfielder Leah Fleming. At UC, CU's defense of junior Olivia Bekeleski, senior Zoe Belding, freshman Ally Bender and senior Edie deMedicis held the Golden Eagles to eight shots (five on goal). Charleston got off 13 shots versus Concord in Beckley while CU was held to six attempts in a 1-0 victory.

CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Charleston ended the regular season on a three-game losing streak, but played three of the four top teams in the MEC in Frostburg State, Fairmont State and West Virginia State. Sydney Cavender has scored 12 times this fall, and her lone assist was on Laura Vierhout's goal in the second half in Charleston's win at Concord. Madison Hansen (five goals) and Vierhout (four) have added a combined nine goals. Jordan Maynard has spent all but 26 minutes in goal this season, making 66 saves on 94 shots.
