HOT STREAK
Senior midfielder
Yasmin Mosby has scored three goals in her last two games including netting her first career two-goal contest in the 5-0 victory over Wheeling last Friday. The two goals for Mosby came just 75 seconds apart to start the second half—in the 48
th and 50
th minutes. Mosby became the third active player with at least two goals in a game, joining sophomore forward
Rachel Bell and junior forward
Leah Foster. Additionally, Mosby now has 16 career goals, just three away from joining the all-time top 10 in program history. The last player to have back-to-back two-goal games was Bell September 8 and 11, 2019 against Salem and Wingate.
RECORD WATCH
Foster netted a goal against Wheeling to push her to 76 career points, three away from the top five in program history. The Wigan, England native is looking to become the first player to top 80 career points since Gemma Nortcliffe (2007-10), who finished as the program's all-time leading point getter at 132. Foster has recorded at least one point in four of her six career games versus Charleston, including a two-goal game as a freshman in the fall of 2018. Junior goalkeeper
Leah Marsh posted her second straight shutout to lower her career goals-against average to 0.75. The current shutout streak of 209 minutes is the second longest for Marsh in her career.
GOING FOR THE GOLD
CU will be looking to avenge a 4-0 loss to Charleston from March 5 when it visits the Welch Athletic Complex Friday night. Concord has won its last two road games against the Golden Eagles. During the 2019 season, the Mountain Lions claimed a 2-0 win. Foster tallied one of the goals while sophomore defender
Zoe Belding and senior defender
Alyssa Mahar assisted on separate goals. In 2018, Foster assisted on a double overtime goal by
Pilar Elias as Concord won 1-0. In the last three contests played at Charleston, the Mountain Lions have allowed the home team to score just once.
CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
The Golden Eagles have not allowed a goal all season. In addition to the win over CU, Charleston has a 3-0 win over West Virginia State, a 4-0 victory versus Glenville State and a 0-0 tie in its latest game against Fairmont State. Rachel Osborne registered two assists versus CU earlier this season, and is the leader in points for the Golden Eagles with seven (two goals, three assists). Kassandra Demps has also scored twice in 2021. The UC goalkeeping duo of Carol Burgess and Kaylee Hensley have combined to face just nine shots on goal in four games.
