The Mountain Lions bring back over 75 percent of its offense from the 2019 season. Sophomore middle hitter Amber Hall notched 243 kills during her freshman season—a team high. Additionally, the Massillon, Ohio native hit a stellar .249. Hall ranked just outside the top 10 in the MEC in hitting percentage. CU also welcomes back four other players that notched 100 or more kills in 2019 with senior outside hitter Kirsti Pouncy (148) leading the way followed by junior middle hitter Sheridan Herron (145), sophomore hitter Hailey Buchanan (119) and senior right side Kenzie Coulter (103).

STEPPING UP
Concord has to replace over 1,800 career assists from Jenna Mounts and nearly 1,800 career digs from Erin Shannon who both graduated. However, senior defensive specialist Lindsay Maddox already has more than 1,200 digs in her career at Concord—eighth best in program history at 1,287. Last season, the Amherst, Virginia native ranked seventh in the MEC in digs per set with 4.22. Junior setter Imani Rodgers registered 429 assists during her sophomore season, including tallying 30 or more assists in two of the last five matches of 2019. Rodgers needs 112 assists to amass 1,000 for her career.

IN THE RANKINGS
Not only did Maddox rank among the best in the MEC in digs last season, but Herron finished the 2019 campaign ninth in the conference in blocks per set at 0.87. Herron had at least three blocks in 10 matches last season. Herron and Hall combined for 150 of Concord's 184 blocks last season with Herron tallying a team-best 80.

STARTING THE SEASON
Concord dropped both matches to Davis & Elkins and West Virginia State last season. In a home defeat to the Senators, the Mountain Lions hit .197 in three sets. Hall had seven kills while Herron added six. Rodgers tallied a team-best 15 assists. The Mountain Lions will be looking for their first victory over West Virginia State since 2017 when they took a four-set match November 10. Maddox recorded 18 digs for Concord in the 2017 win over WVSU.

DAVIS & ELKINS AT A GLANCE
As part of its 19-win season in 2019, Davis & Elkins advanced to the MEC Semifinals before falling to eventual champion Wheeling. The Senators have to replace 432 kills from Kaitlyn LaCour and another 178 kills from Raleighanne Weaver. Mya Mintschenko had 137 kills during her junior season. D&E finished the 2019 season strong by winning eight of its final 11 matches.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE AT A GLANCE
Fourth-year head Kris Kern continues to build WVSU into one of the best programs in the MEC. After winning 14 matches in his first season, Kern and the Yellow Jackets have racked up 46 wins the last two years. Former MEC Freshman of the Year from 2018 Gabrielle Bullock and fellow junior Jenna Dufresne highlight the returners for West Virginia State. Dufresne piled up 378 kills last year—fifth in the MEC—on her way to an All-MEC First Team season. Bullock had 259 digs a season ago.
