Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University women's basketball team came up short, 77-69, to Charleston Saturday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at the Wehrle Center.
Down 18-8 to start the game, Concord (3-1, 0-1 MEC) made a run throughout the rest of the first quarter and second quarter as it outscored Charleston 18-13 over the final 13 minutes of the first half.
Junior guard
Jazz Blankenship canned two of her four three-pointers during the spurt.
Down 31-26 at halftime, the Mountain Lions saw UC hit a three-pointer out of the intermission that helped the Golden Eagles outscore Concord 21-12 in the third quarter.
CU tallied 31 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as Charleston held off the late rally.
Blankenship came off the bench to net a team-high 16 points, aided by the four three-pointers. Sophomore guard
Maddie Ratcliff went for 15 points while fellow sophomore guard
Jaisah Smith added 11 points.
Fifth-year senior forward
Riley Fitzwater just missed a double-double of eight points and nine rebounds while adding three blocks. Senior guard
Gracie Robinson chipped in nine points and six rebounds.
