BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team lost 2-1 in overtime to Wheeling Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference contest at the YMCA Cline Complex.
The first two goals of the game came in a 22-second span. After hitting the post for the second time in the game, senior defender
Tristan Bragg would not be denied a third time as he poked in his first career goal in the 42
nd minute to push Concord (0-10, 0-8 MEC) ahead. Bragg had earlier hit the right post off a corner kick delivery.
On the ensuing restart, Wheeling (4-6, 3-5 MEC) scored on a shot that was chipped over the head of fifth-year senior goalkeeper
Kyle Brown to tie the game at halftime.
Though CU had just three shots in the second half, the Mountain Lions had a couple opportunity to regain the lead. A heading attempt by sophomore forward

Ted Penn was pushed wide in the 59
th minute.
And sophomore midfielder
Ricardo Chinea-Pegler had his low line drive attempt pushed aside in the 82
nd minute.
Into overtime, sophomore forward Piyo Debasey rang of a shot from 15 yards away off the crossbar in the 93
rd minute, and 44 seconds later the Cardinals got the golden goal.
The Mountain Lions rolled up 11 shots in the game with five on frame. Bragg had a team-best three shots.
With eight saves in the game, Brown became Concord's all-time saves leader and now has 288 for his career.
CU continues it home stand 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Frostburg State.
