GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Former Concord University women's basketball standout
Madison May has officially been announced a member of the Glenville State women's basketball coaching staff, the program Thursday afternoon.
May will be an assistant coach to head coach Kim Stephens, who has compiled a record of 111-16 in four previous seasons at Glenville State. The Pioneers have won the last four Mountain East Conference regular season titles and the last three MEC Tournament Championships under Stephens' direction.
A three-time All-MEC selection (2018, 2019, 2020) and twice named to the All-Atlantic Region Team (2019, 2020), May finished her career at Concord with 1,788 points which is second in program history while ranking top five in career rebounds (762) and top five in career assists (331) at CU.
Additionally, the Athens, West Virginia native helped the Mountain Lions win 44 games over her final two seasons with records of 23-7 and 21-9 in 2018-19 and 2019-20. May finished her career at the Carter Center with a 103-102 triumph as she scored 29 points and handed out seven assists.
May's last game in a CU uniform came in the MEC Tournament Semifinals where GSC edged the Mountain Lions, 70-68.
Before accepting the position on Stephens' staff, May was set to become the Graduation Retention Improvement Program (GRIP) Coordinator at CU while also joining head coach
Kenny Osborne's staff as a volunteer assistant.
