Smith Named to CSC Academic All-American Second Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Senior forward Abbie Smith of the Concord University women's basketball team has been voted to the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-American Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.

Smith, a native of Little Hocking, Ohio, carries a GPA of 3.80 as a business administration major. She is on pace to graduate in honors next month before beginning her graduate work. Along with her academic prestige, Smith has been one of the best players to ever don the Maroon and Gray for the CU women's basketball program.

During her career, Smith scored 1,911 points and grabbed 1,129 rebounds—both third all-time at Concord. Smith shot 54.4 percent from the floor over her career and finished second in career shots made at CU (719). She was also sharp at the foul line, hitting on 78.6 percent of her free throws which was fifth all-time at Concord.

This past winter, Smith was named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Year which was the start of a successful postseason awards haul. Smith was a Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-American selection and was named the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. She also picked up Honorable Mention All-American from the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA).

Smith concluded her career by averaging 18.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. She was top 30 in Division II in scoring and was 13th in rebounding. Her 18 double-doubles were tied for seventh in the nation. Smith was also 12th nationally in field-goal percentage in 2025-26 (57.0).

Smith becomes the second player in program history to earn Academic All-American, joining Riley Fitzwater (2021).
