On This Day in 2019: Volleyball Sweeps Limestone at Concord Classic

ATHENS, W.Va. – Throughout the fall semester, the Concord University Sports Information Department will be looking back at different events and games that has shaped Concord Athletics to what it is today in a "On This Day" segment.

On this day in 2019, the Concord University volleyball team concluded the Third Annual Concord Classic by sweeping Limestone in three, tightly-contested sets.

The Mountain Lions won the first two sets 29-27 and 25-21 before winning the third set more comfortably, 25-18.

Sophomore middle hitter Amber Hall had a stellar match with 11 kills in 15 attempts with no attack errors. Camryn Huber added eight kills in 10 attacks with no errors. Senior outside hitter Kirsti Pouncy notched seven kills and eight digs.

Senior defensive specialist Lindsay Maddox pitched in 10 digs and five service aces to aid the Concord straight-sets win. Setters Jenna Mounts and Imani Rodgers combined for 31 assists in the contest.

The performances in the final match of last year's Concord Classic helped Hall and Huber land on the Concord Classic All-Tournament Team.
