ATHENS, W.Va. - Throughout the summer months and weeks, the Concord University Sports Information Department will be announcing all-decade teams for each program.

On Wednesday, the all-decade team for sprinters and throwers for the women's track and field was released. Now on Thursday, the distance runners and jumpers will be unveiled.

The all-decade team is made up of the top three athletes in each event based on performance with each athlete only being eligible for up to three events. Additionally, only outdoor track and field times/distances/heights were considered for the all-decade team.

800-meter run
Shawnee Carnett (Sugar Grove, Va., 2009-14)
A two-time national champion in the 800-meters leads off the all-decade team. Carnett won the 2011 National Championship at the Division II Outdoor Championships, and won the 2014 National Championship at the Division II Indoor Championships. She has the school record in the event at 2:06.19.

Jada Strachan (Freeport, Bahamas, 2018-Current)
Strachan clocked a time of 2:20.53 during her freshman season of 2019, good enough for a runner-up finish at the Mountain East Conference Championships and an All-MEC Second Team selection in the event.

Danielle Pye (Lancaster, England, 2006-10)
Pye actually had the fourth-fastest 800-meters time during the decade, but Rachel Williams will be featured in other events. Pye's best time in the event came in 2010 when she clocked 2:22.30.

1,500-meter run
Carnett's accomplishments in the 1,500-meters aren't nearly as impressive as the 800-meters, but her achievements in the event is still very good. Carnett ran 4:30.55, a school record, which translates to 4:52 for a full mile.

Pye clocked a time of 4:52.62 during her senior campaign to land on the all-decade team in a second event.

Aidan Payton (Mt. Lookout, W.Va., 2016-Current)
Both Williams and Chelsea Callaway have faster times than Payton in the 1,500-meters, but will be featured in other events. Payton's time of 4:58.87 was clocked during her sophomore season at West Virginia Wesleyan.

Bailey Knowles (Christiansburg, Va., 2015-19)
Knowles went under 11 minutes as she posted a time of 10:55.28 at Richmond during her freshman season of 2016.

Karleigh Thompson (Clifton Forge, Va., 2015-19)

High Jump
Ashleigh Taylor (Summersville, W.Va., 2012-16)
Taylor capped her sophomore season by clearing 1.58 meters at the MEC Championships. She just missed the school record, held by fellow Summersville, West Virginia native Bethany Gatewood in 2005—Gatewood cleared 1.63 meters.

Pole Vault
Like the triple jump, the pole vault has only one qualifier in Pratt. The Charleston, West Virginia native cleared 2.90 meters at Wake Forest in 2011.

Heptathlon
Pratt's best heptathlon score came in 2011 at the WVIAC Championship as she registered 3,904 points, good enough for fourth.
