Name: Brian Ferguson

What made you decide to get into coaching?
I love the game of football and love the ability to connect with players and give them a clear and undeniable definition of what it takes to become a champion forever. Coaching is my passion and my lives purpose.

How did you land at Concord?
I spent the last four years as the offensive coordinator at Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee. It was time for a change and Coach Walker offered me the same position on his staff. With Coach Walker's track record for winnings and his genuine personality it was a no brainer to join the Concord team

What's your most memorable moment as a coach either at Concord or another coaching stop?
I have been lucky in my coaching profession to collect championship rings at every level. But my most memorable moment was my first game coaching with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We played the Chicago Bears and I remember during pre-game how blessed I felt to be in the NFL.

What's the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my coaching job is at the end of a game the scoreboard shows us as the winners and getting to see the joy in my players faces that they worked together to reach a common goal of winning.

Tell us where you're from and little bit about the area you grew up in.
In the coaching world you live in a bunch of different places. I lived in Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, and now Virginia. I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colorado Springs has some great outdoors sports. So I grew up skiing, fishing, and road mountain bikes. Colorado Springs is known for Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods

Favorite vacation spot?
Love fishing so Florida is top spot. Also Alaska

Best local restaurant to eat at?
I live in Blacksburg, Virginia, so I don't eat local.

What's the biggest attribute you look for in an athlete?
Passion for the game.

What makes Concord special or what's your favorite thing about campus?
I am still new to Concord, but what I have seen so far is the people make Concord special. Everyone has been very nice

What advice would you go back and give yourself if you were 20-years old again?
Learn to invest your money early.

Favorite TV show unrelated to sports?
The Office. Looking back at my past jobs I think I have worked with all of the TV shows characters

What's one bucket list item you have yet to accomplish?
Buy a house on a lake
