ATHENS, W.Va. – Throughout the fall semester, the Concord University Sports Information Department will be looking back at different events and games that has shaped Concord Athletics to what it is today in a "On This Day" segment.
On this day in 2018,
Max Suckel of the Concord University men's soccer team finished his junior season with a hat trick as CU defeated Bluefield College, 6-2, at Anderson Field to close the regular season.
Suckel got the scoring started for the Mountain Lions as he found the back of the net in the 16
th and 20
th minutes to push CU out to a 2-0 lead.
The San Antonio, Chile native finished off his hat trick early in the contest with a score in the 32
nd minute which was the fourth goal of the contest.
Along with Suckel's hat trick,
Matt Henderson scored twice to conclude his career in the Maroon and Gray with two second-half goals.
