SNOWSHOE, W.Va. – The Concord University men's golf team placed fourth out of 12 teams at the Snowshoe Invite hosted by Davis & Elkins at the Raven Golf Course at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.
The tournament was two rounds with play finishing up Tuesday. CU concluded with a team score of 611 as it registered scores of 309 and 302.
Sophomore
Noah Clark was the top finisher for Concord as he put together rounds of 74 and 75, good enough for 149 and a sixth-place showing. Clark has now shot four consecutive of 75 or better after Monday and Tuesday's performance.
Freshman
Carson Proffitt was steady in his two rounds as he finished tied for 12
th with a total of 152. Proffitt shot 77 on the first day and came back with a 75 during the final round. Freshman
Colin Wiley was one of the biggest mover on day two of the tournament. After opening up with an 81, Wiley moved up from 28
th to finish in a tie for 15
th after a collegiate-best round of 73. Wiley's total was 154.
Junior
Brett Laxton carded rounds of 77 and 79 to tie for 23
rd with a two-day total of 156. Freshman
Bauer Galloway tied for 43
rd with a score of 166 (81, 85)
Malone's Connor Curry shot three-under par (141 total) including a tournament-best 68 during the final round to win medalist honors by a stroke over West Liberty's Alex Easthom.
Indiana (Pa.) won the team title with a score of 599.
The next tournament for the Mountain Lions will be the Mountain East Conference Championship October 7-9 at Glade Spring Resort in Daniels, West Virginia.
