THE RETURNERS
On the women's side, CU returns two athletes who earned All-Mountain East Conference last season during the outdoor season. Sophomore Jada Strachan was the runner-up in the 800-meter run while junior Josea Smith finished third in the 400-meter hurdles. The duo was also part of Concord's third-place 4x400-meter relay team.
The men's returners are highlighted by seniors Damon Akers and Jason Weitzel. Akers was a two-time MEC Champion in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs as a junior in 2018 before injury cut his 2019 outdoor campaign short. Another returner for Concord is sophomore Isaac Prather, who finished third in both the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 10,000-meter run as a freshman at the MEC Championships.
