BOARDING UP
Concord collected 50 or more rebounds in each game to start the season in Fairmont, West Virginia. In a 93-82 loss to Seton Hill, the Mountain Lions pulled down 58 rebounds which were the most since grabbing 65 against Bluefield State January 28, 2018. CU returned to the court to tally 51 rebounds versus Lock Haven in an 86-60 win. Junior forward Riley Fitzwater grabbed 19 rebounds versus Seton Hill and 33 total boards over the two games to move within seven of 700 rebounds for her career. Senior forward Madison May recorded 13 rebounds to go with her career-high 33 points against Seton Hill. With 19 rebounds over the weekend, May moved past 2019 Concord Hall of Famer and current UVa.-Wise head coach Jamie Cluesman for 10th in all-time rebounds at Concord with 545. Through two games, Concord has a +12 rebounding margin on average.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
In the 26-point victory against LHU, the Mountain Lions had five players finish in double figures. Sophomore guard Maggie Guynn missed her career high by two points as she scored a game-best 19 points. May chipped in 16 points and Fitzwater finished with 15 points. Junior guard Keely Lundy tied her career high with 12 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting from three-point range. Junior forward Tamra Scott scored all 12 of her points in the third quarter. It was the first time CU had five double-figure scorers since a road win at Notre Dame in February. Fitzwater, Guynn and May were a part of that group.

LET'S GET DEFENSIVE
Over the weekend, CU held its two opponents to a combined 30.1 percent shooting (47-for-156). The difference in the SHU contest was the Griffins sinking 18 three-pointers. Against Lock Haven, the Mountain Lions held LHU to 27.4 percent shooting (20-for-73). Saturday marked the seventh time since the start of the 2017-18 season that Concord has held an opponent below 30 percent shooting for the game. Last season, the Mountain Lions led the Mountain East Conference in field goal defense (38.2 percent). And last season the Maroon and Gray held Bluefield State to 29.0 percent (36-for-124) in two games and limited UVa.-Wise to 35.0 percent (73-for-208) across three games.

Scott had her first career double-double in her first career start as she posted 14 points and 13 rebounds in an 83-52 Concord win last season at BSC. For her career, May is averaging 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game against the Blues and has a double-double in three of the last four meetings.
