MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Friday will mark the third time in 10 seasons under head coach Kate Dillon that Concord opens the season in the month of August with the last time being 2012.

King has been a regular fixture on the CU schedule in the recent past with 10 all-time match ups going back to the 1995 season, however, Concord has combined to play the other three schools just once in program history.

Senior middle hitter Brooke Heck is on pace to become the Mountain Lions' all-time leader in hitting percentage. Heck is the only player in program history to hit better than .300, starting the season with a career mark of .322. Additionally, the Huntington, West Virginia native can become the fifth player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills with 24 this weekend.

The last players to reach the milestone were Sarah Jones and Brytni Willis during the 2014 season.

Heck and senior outside hitters Ellie Lawrence and Alexi Pranckus are all in the top 15 in career hitting percentage at CU. Heck holds the top spot with Lawrence's .175 percentage ranking 11th and Pranckus is tied for 13th at .140.

Junior setter Jenna Mounts starts the season 10th in program history in assists with 815.

After a year away from the game, senior defensive specialist Erin Shannon returned to the program and ranks seventh in career digs with 1,088. In 2016, Shannon became the eighth
player in program history to notch 600 or more digs in a single season after registering 642.

Sophomore defensive specialist Lindsay Maddox just missed the 600-dig mark last season as a true freshman as she had 576.

Now a decade into her career at Concord, Dillon needs two more wins to reach 125 victories for her time at CU.

VSU INVITE OPPONENTS' 2017 RECORD
King compiled a record of 11-15 overall and 6-8 in the Conference Carolinas.

Virginia State was just 11-17 in 2017, but won 10 games in the CIAA, going 10-5.

NGU went 19-10 last season and was 11-4 in conference play.

Results for ECSU from last season are unavailable.
