With wins in seven of its last eight games, Concord is 11-8 overall and 7-7 in the MEC.

Meanwhile, Wheeling Jesuit is also 7-7 in the conference and is 9-11 this season.

WLU is one game ahead of both teams in the MEC standings with an 8-6 mark. The Hilltoppers are 9-11 overall.

HITTING A STRIDE
Since the start of 2018, the Mountain Lions are 7-3. It is the best 10-game run for Concord since they won seven out of 10 to finish the 2011-2012 season.

During the same season, CU started the season by winning nine of its first 10 games.

In the last seven wins, the Mountain Lions have beaten teams by an average of 14 points per game.

However, three of the seven wins have come by five points or less. This season, Concord is 4-1 in games decided by five or fewer points.

DROPPING 30
Against Bluefield State, senior guard Danielle Catron scored a career-best 30 points on 12-for-19 shooting including sinking five three-pointers on nine attempts.

Her five three-pointers tied a carer high from the 2016-17 season versus Bluefield State.

Catron joined sophomore forward Madison May who poured in 30 points on the road against West Virginia Wesleyan in December.

Catron and May are just the second set of teammates in the MEC to score 30 points this season, joining Fairmont State's Brooke Kurucz and Sierra Kotchman.

By scoring 30 points, Catron passed Andrea Bertrand for 14th on the all-time scoring list at CU.

The Marion, Virginia native now has 1,078 points in her career.

DOUBLE THE PRODUCTION
For the second time this season, the Mountain Lions had three players record a double-double.

Catron led the way with 30 points and 11 rebounds. May finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Freshman forward Riley Fitzwater notched 12 points and 14 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season.

The Glenville, West Virginia native becomes the first CU player to have double-digit double-doubles in a season since 2017 CU Hall of Fame inductee Jolysa Brown had 20 during the 2011-2012 season.

Additionally, Fitzwater is tied for ninth in Division II for most double-doubles this season.

As a team, Concord has tallied 20 double-doubles with May tallying five and Catron and senior forward Heather Chapman each adding two.

CU has had at least one player record a double-double in 15 of 19 games this season.

BENCH BOOST
Junior guard Emily Boothe has been a key asset off the CU bench during its recent successful run.

Boothe has at least one steal in nine consecutive games and one or more steals in 15 of the last 16 games.

Despite starting just one game this season, the Riner, Virginia native has played 30 or more minutes six times this season including a season-best 36 minutes versus WVWC Saturday.

Among MEC players that have five or fewer starts, Boothe's 7.2 points per game rank second behind Glenville State's Julie Bishop.

A MAJOR AWARD
When Concord faced West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit earlier this season at the Carter Center, Fitzwater averaged 18.5 points, 19.5 rebounds and 8.5 blocks in the two contests.

Fitzwater also shot 62.5 percent (15-for-24) from the field.

The performances led to the freshman post player being named not only the MEC Player of the Week, but also the United States Basketball  Writers' Association Division II Player of the Week.

POSITION BATTLE
When Concord knocked off Wheeling Jesuit 71-70 at the Carter Center January 11, it was a battle of two stellar position groups.

Wheeling Jesuit's Chenelle More and Kiara Wade was pitted against CU's forward trio of  Chapman, Fitzwater and May in the post.

Concord held Moore, who leads the MEC with 13 double-doubles to 11 points and five rebounds.

Wade was limited to 1-for-10 from the field. On the perimeter, Concord's guards of Boothe, Catron, senior Lindsey Overbey and junior guard Andreanna Pool stymied WJU's Mariah Callen to 3-for-17 shooting and held Monica Burns to 3-for-7 from the field the second half after she was 6-for-11 in the first half.

Overall, the Cardinals were just 23-for-73 from the field (31.5 percent) against Concord's league-leading field goal defense.

RUN AND GUN
Concord and WLU possess the second and third-best scoring offenses in the MEC.

CU score 77.4 points per game while the Hilltoppers go for 77.3 points per game.

However, the Mountain Lions limit teams to 37.5 percent from the field on average, eighth-best in the Atlantic Region while West Liberty allows teams to shoot 43.5 percent from the field.

In the first meeting this season, Concord shot 55.9 percent (38-for-68) from the floor and recorded 62 points in the paint in a 90-63 win, and held WLU to 35.7 percent (25-for-70) shooting.

May led all scorers with 27 points. Fitzwater tallied 15 while Pool and Overbey each had 12 points, and Chapman pitched in 10.
