PLAYOFF SCENARIOS
Concord starts the week tied with Urbana for the ninth spot in the MEC standings. The top 10 teams will mak the postseason next week at the Charleston Civic Center.

Concord owns the tiebreaker over both Urbana and UVa.-Wise via its home win over West Liberty.

In the event Concord finishes tied with Urbana OR UVa.-Wise for the final playoff spot and finishes tied head-to-head with both teams, CU would own the tiebreaker.

In the event, the Mountain Lions finish tied with Urbana AND UVa.-Wise. A three-team tiebreaker is laid out below from the Mountain East Conference.

The three tied teams are looked at as a subset head-to-head versus the group. You would compare the records against all tied teams. In a three-team tie in the MEC schedule, the subset would be a 4-game record against the two teams with which a team is tied.  If this breaks all ties, then the teams are ordered by record in the subset.  In a scenario where Team A if 4-0, and Team B and Team C are both 1-3, then head-to-head is used between Team B and Team C using the two games they played against each other to break the secondary tie (in this case they obviously would be 1-1 against each other). Then proceed to the 2nd Tiebreaker.
In simplest terms, head-to-head continues to be used after initial ties are broken between more than two teams if ties remain.
2nd Tiebreaker: Record vs. Teams in Standings - 1st-12th place teams.
If a tie still exists after head-to-head comparisons, then in descending order the tied teams record is considered against other teams in the standings starting with 1st place.
vs. 1st place   TEAM A 0-2 | TEAM B 0-2
vs. 2nd place   TEAM A 1-1 | TEAM B 0-2
TEAM A wins 2nd tiebreaker.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU is tied for ninth in the Mountain East Conference standings with Urbana at 6-14.

The Mountain Lions are 10-16 overall.

Charleston is 14-12 on the season and 8-12 in the MEC.

UVa.-Wise is chasing Concord and Urbana for the final spot in the MEC postseason as it sits at 5-17 in the league and 7-19 overall.

2-0 ROAD TRIP
The Mountain Lions won both games over the weekend by defeating Urbana 98-91 and beating Notre Dame 95-87.

It was the first time Concord won back-to-back MEC road games since February 4-6, 2016 when CU downed West Virginia Wesley and Glenville State in a three-day span.

Reigning MEC Player of the Week and sophomore guard Tommy Bolte propelled the Maroon and Gray as he averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game.

The Chillicothe, Ohio native shot 56.5 percent (13-for-23) from the floor, 75 percent (6-for-8) from the three-point range and 89.4 percent (17-for-19) at the foul line.

After Saturday's win, Concord has won three straight true road games for the first time since the WVWC and GSC contests coupled with a UVa.-Wise road win January 21, 2016.

Senior forward Stephen Thompson scored 19 points at NDC, marking the fifth time in the last time he has scored at least 10 points.

Senior guard Aaron Miller went over 1,700 career points at NDC as he dropped in 27 points and 34 total on the weekend.

Miller now has 1,708 career points.

It was the first time in over three years the Mountain Lions have had five or fewer turnovers in a game.

The last time CU accomplished the feat was at home against West Virginia Wesleyan January 30, 2014.

Shepherd is the only other team in the league to have three or fewer turnovers in a league game.

The Rams had three turnovers at Notre Dame on January 16.

COMEBACK KIDS

It was the first time since last year's home win against Shepherd and a road victory at West Virginia Wesleyan that CU has come back from halftime deficits to win consecutive games..

Last week, CU outscored UU and the Falcons by a combined 107-83 in the second half.

During Cocnord's streak of five wins out of six games, three wins have come when trailing at halftime. The other was a six-point deficit overcome at Glenville State.
