GAME 1: Le Moyne 3 – Concord 2
A late rally from Concord fell short as Le Moyne fended off the Mountain Lions by a single run.
The Dolphins scored a quick run in the first inning on a solo shot to take a 1-0 lead early on. LMC then added two more runs in the bottom of the second inning to grab a 3-0 lead after two.
After two scoreless innings between the two teams, Concord's rally began in the top of the fifth inning after senior outfielder
Lauren Lewis drove in senior shortstop
Alayna Furr and junior catcher/outfielder
Chelsea Shepherd on a two-run single to center field.
However, the Mountain Lions couldn't find the tying run over the final two innings as the Dolphins clung on to a 3-2 win.
Lewis finished with Concord's only two RBI. Furr, freshman outfielder/pitcher
Darby Fitzpatrick, and senior third baseman
Courtney Purtell compiled Concord's other hits.
Fitzpatrick (1-1), took the loss in the circle.
GAME 2: Concord 6 – Wilmington 3
The Moutnain Lions fought back with five runs in in next to last at-bat to ensure a split their final day at Myrtle Beach.
Concord got on the board first in the bottom of the opening frame after Furr was driven in by sophomore pitcher/utility Aarron War who smacked a single to left field to give the Mountain Lions a 1-0 advantage after one.
Wilmington responded in the third inning with an RBI single to tie the game at one after three.
The Wildcats grabbed the lead in the third after a two RBI double from Rosa'Lynn Burton made the score 3-1 after five.
The score remained 3-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when
Abby Beatty drove a solo shot over the center field fence to lead off the inning. Several batters later, sophomore infielder
Kylie Kent walked with the bases loaded to tie the game at three with one out in the inning.
Lewis came up big with her second two-run single of the day to give the Mountain Lions a 5-3 lead, with Ward following up with an RBI groundout to score Kent and add the sixth run for CU.
Senior pitcher
Allie Reid snuffed out any chance of a Wilmington comeback, retiring the last seven batters she faced to earn her fourth win of the season and her fifth complete game in six appearances.
Furr finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while freshman second baseman/shortstop
Jenna Witt finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored. Lewis and Ward each tallied multiple RBI games.
Reid completed the game allowing four hits and striking out five to improve her record to 4-2.
