ATHENS, W.Va. – A 12-0 run midway through the first half allowed the Concord University men's basketball team to overcome an early deficit against Glenville State in an 84-70 win in Mountain East Conference action at the Carter Center Tuesday night.
Down 14-7 with 13:49 left in the first half, Concord (6-3, 4-1 MEC) reeled off the next 12 points that started with back-to-back three-pointers from senior guard

Antonio Patterson added a breakaway dunk where he dribbled behind his back to fend a GSC player before going airborne.
The Mountain Lions continued to open up the gap and led by 11 at halftime, 40-29, as junior guard
Tommy Bolte beat the first-half buzzer on a fast break layup.

Jyles Webster gave Concord its biggest lead of the contest, 44-29. However, the Pioneers (0-8, 0-5) answered with 12 straight points to trim the CU lead to three with 14:41 remaining.
Still up five points, 50-45, with 10:59 remaining Bolte scored 14 of the next 16 Concord points. But, he was matched by GSC's Darhius Nunn as the Pioneers stayed within striking distance at 66-60 with 5:44 remaining.
Hamlet ensured a Concord win as he buried three three-pointers over the next four Mountain Lion possessions as CU opened up a 13-point lead on his final triple during the spurt.
Glenville State was never able to get back to within single-digits of Concord as CU won by 14 points.
Bolte led four Mountain Lions in double figures with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting. The Chillicothe, Ohio also had six rebounds and five assists.
Peterson set a career high with 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting including two thunderous dunks in the second half. With the late success from three-point range, Hamlet scored 15 and Patterson added 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.
Concord set a season high with 20 assists on 32 made shots. Six players had at least two assists in the contest.
The Mountain Lions equaled a season best with six blocks as Peterson led the effort with two.
Nunn and Brooks Ely combined for 53 of the Glenville State 70 points in the game as Nunn scored a game-high 29 points.
CU takes to the road for an MEC contest against West Virginia Wesleyan 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
