ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team starts a five-match home stand Friday night when it plays host to West Liberty at 5:00 p.m. and Wheeling Jesuit at 7:00 p.m.

RECORDS
CU is 11-17 this season and has a 5-6 Mountain East Conference record. Concord is seventh in the MEC standings.
West Liberty sports a record of 16-12 overall and is 7-6 in the MEC.
WJU is nationally-ranked at 21 with a 24-4 record and is 12-0 against the MEC.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Friday night will be the first home game for the Mountain Lions since October 14 when they hosted Urbana.
Concord closed a five-match road trip with two consecutive wins over Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan.
CU swept Glenville State for the second time while it needed four sets to beat West Virginia Wesleyan for the third time in 2017.
Junior middle hitter Brooke Heck notched 27 kills in two matches including a season-high 17 at Wesleyan. The Huntington, West Virginia native went over 900 kills for her career and also moved into seventh all-time at CU with 907.
Junior outside hitter Alexi Pranckus had back-to-back solid matches on the road as she went for 11 kills in each contests and added a double-double of 11 kills and 11 digs against WVWC.
Additionally, Pranckus hit a season-best .391 versus Glenville State and returned to hit .206 at Wesleyan.
Pranckus' outside hitting partner, sophomore Ellie Lawrence also was stellar against West Virginia Wesleyan as she notched her fourth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs.
The Mountain Lions had just four blocks against WVWC after combining for 23 in the first two meetings this season.
However, senior middle hitter
Shea Hoffman continued her ascent up the all-time blocks list at Concord with three over the weekend. Hoffman now has 275 career stuffs which is good enough for seventh all-time.
Furthermore, sophomore middle hitter Emily Ellis got closer to joining the all-time list in both solo  and total blocks. Ellis has 57 career solo blocks and needs three more to tie for 10
th. The Oak Forest, Illinois native needs eight total blocks to appear on the all-time list.
Concord was swept by both West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit last season.
The Mountain Lions fell to WLU on the road in three tight matches with the first two being decided by a combined five points. Senior setter
Casey Mandeville had 21 assists in the defeat. Heck added 14 kills.
This past weekend, Mandeville went over 2,200 career assists that included a 33-assist effort against Wesleyan. It was the second-highest, single-match total in Mandeville's career.
At home versus Wheeling Jesuit, Mandeville recorded 15 assists while sophomore setter Jenna Mounts tallied nine.
WEST LIBERTY AT A GLANCE
The Hilltoppers come into play Friday on a brief two-game losing streak.
Kailee Cunningham is averaging 5.27 digs per set which is second in the MEC, but four other players average at least two digs per set for West Liberty.
Sydney Scherer is first in the league in blocks per set at 1.11.
WHEELING JESUIT AT A GLANCE
Wheeling Jesuit has gone 76-0 against MEC opponents during the regular season in this the fifth year of the conference.
The Cardinals have lost just three sets in conference play this season.
Stephanie Sylvester is the reigning MEC Player of the Week. She is averaging 11.95 assists per set. Cassie Meyer is pacing WJU in kills with 3.74 per set and 374 total.
