A FOND FAREWELL TO A SPECIAL GROUP
Prior to Saturday's game 13 seniors will be recognized for their various contributions to Concord football.

Since 2014, Concord has won 22 games with over half of those wins coming at home--15.

Four members of the senior class appear in the CUrecord book.

Senior defensive back Jeremish Johnson ranks among the best in school history in interceptions, pass break-ups, fumbles forced and fumbles recovered. Johnson has 10 career interceptions (sixth all-time), 36 pass break-ups (third), four forced fumbles (fifth) and three recoveries (eighth).

Senior kicker Zack Keaton finds him name in the top 10 all-time in points scored with 67 (fifth all-time), field goals made (12 -- fourth) and extra points made (33 -- sixth).

Senior running back Jamal Petty has 251 career carries which ranks ninth in school history and his 5.2 yards per rush is third best at Concord.

Senior defensive back Chaudlier Shepherd is sixth all-time at CU in interceptions with seven.

Johnson and Shepherd along with senior punter Garrett Lee were part of the All-MEC Team last season.

Johnson is a three-time all-conference selection.

Shepherd was a second team pick last season while Lee made the honorable mention squad.

Lee starts the week ranked fifth nationally in punting average at 43.7.

The rest of the senior class is made up of tight end Jordan Bryant, wide receiver Paul Jones, running back Nick Loftin, offensive lineman Chris Norman, defensive lineman Kelsey Poe, defensive back Andrew Roach, linebacker Azsaun Whiley and defensive back Dominic Wilson.

TRIPLE THREAT
A trio of juniors were the top playmakers for Concord at West Liberty last week.

Linebacker Zach Malone recorded 12 tackles to go over 200 for his career.

Malone has 210 stops in his career and needs three tackles to break into the top 10 all-time at CU.

Linebacker Andrew Jakubowsky notched 11 tackles at WLU for a new career high.

The 23 combined stops from Jakubowsky and Malone are the most for two Mountain Lion linebackers since 2012 when Jake Lilly and Howard Jordan combined for 30 against Division I Liberty. Junior defensive lineman Malik Trollinger continued his strong surge.

Trollinger recorded another sack against WLU, his third in two games.

Trollinger tied fellow defensive lineman Colton Neal for the team lead with five quarterback takedowns this season.

EVEN WORKLOAD
Loftin, Petty and sophomore running back JaVaughan Burrus split 24 carries with none carrying the ball more than 10 times against West Liberty.

Loftin and Petty each scored touchdowns in the game while Burrus rushed for a career-high 87 yards on just eight touches.

Additionally, each rusher had an explosive play for the Mountain Lions. Burrus gained 53 yards on a carry, Petty's touchdown was a 31-yard scamper and Loftin had a 39-yard run that set up his touchdown on the same drive.

It was the first time Concord had three different players gain 30 or more yards on a single play since last year at West Virginia State when Burrus, Jermeil Douse and Davon McGill all had a play of 30 or more yards.

DOING A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING
Sophomore linebacker Ty Walker stuffed the stat sheet against West Liberty.

Walker racked up four tackles, but also had a two pass break-ups and had his second career blocked kick versus the Hilltoppers.

It was Walker's third career blocked kick.

On the season, the Ronceverte, West Virginia native has four pass break-ups which ties him on for third on Concord's defense with sophomore defensive back Myles Poindextor.

HOME COOKIN'
Even though Concord saw its seven-game winning streak over Fairmont State come to an end last season with a 28-0 loss at Duvall-Rosier Field in north central West Virginia, the Mountain Lions still own a four-game winning streak over FSU at Callaghan Stadium.

Two years ago, CU defeated the Fighting Falcons 27-10 in Athens.

Petty rushed for one of his 11 career touchdowns agaisnt Fairmont State.

Concord was able to hold Fairmont State to 201 yards of offense in that particular game two years ago.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
3- CU players to amass 200 career tackles in the last three seasons. Along with Malone, Austin Dotson and Ervin Moore achieved the feat at the end of the 2015 season.

120- Rushing yards by Petty in the last home game for CU, the only 100-yard performance by a CU rusher in 2017.

129.9- Combined average penalties yards between CU and FSU, the two least penalized teams in the MEC.

FAIRMONT STATE AT A GLANCE
Fairmont State has lost its three games by a combined 14 points, and led number-two ranked Shepherd deep into the fourth quarter in a 28-23 loss.

The Fighting Falcons lead the MEC in interceptions this season with 15. Jerry Iweh, Marcus Porter and Stephen Turner have each snatched three balls out of the air.

FSU has potentially the best punter and kicker combination in the MEC with Sam Keil and Sam Tucker.

Keil is 17-for-22 this season on field goals including making all six attempts against Glenville State in an overtime win.

Keil also hit a game-winning kick as time expired against Charleston.

Tucker is 12th in Division in punting average at 41.9 yards per punt. FSU has the top scoring defense in the MEC, allowing just 18.3 points per game and has the third-best defense in terms of yards allowed, 295.9.
