RECORDS
CU enters the game with a record of 1-4.
Glenville State sports the same record, but is 0-4 in the Mountain East Conference--its win came against non-conference foe, Alderson-Broaddus.
IN GOOD COMPANY
In his second collegiate start against Shepherd, freshman quarterback
Adam Fulton threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns, and did not have an interception in the game.
Through two games, Fulton has tossed for 418 yards to go along with his three touchdowns.
Among the 21 freshman quarterbacks that have seen action in at least two games this season across Division II, Fulton is third in pass yards per game behind Chowan's Bryce Witt and Millersville's Collin Shank.
Fulton is averaging 209 yards per game while Witt is at 218 and Shank, 227.
To stack Fulton's first two collegiate games up against record-setting CU quarterback
Brian Novak, Fulton is just eight yards off Novak's 426 yards in his first two games in 2013.
The Knoxville, Tennessee native's three touchdowns are the most for a CU quarterback through two career games since Zack Grossi in 2009.
Additionally, Fulton along with junior quarterbacks
Jake Gibson and
Jake Pruitt have not thrown an interception this season.
Only three other teams can claim the same distinction along with CU--Ashland, Eastern New Mexcico and Sioux Falls.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
Among his 18 completions versus Shepherd, Fulton found eight different receivers.
The last time eight Mountain Lions caught at least one pass was last season at UVa.-Wise.
Included in the 18 completions by Fulton was a career-high five catches by sophomore wide receiver
Brandon Plyler who also tallied a career-best 62 yards.
Freshman
Isaiah Bowman caught his first career pass, and fellow freshman wide receiver
Tywan Pearce hauled in his first touchdown reception.
In two starts, Fulton has completed at least one pass to nine different receivers.
SPECIALISTS
Concord's kicking game was exceptional against Shepherd.
Senior kicker
Zack Keaton connected on both field goal attempts while also hitting both extra points.
By recording six points, Keaton moved into sixth place on the all-time scoring list at CU with 47 points.
The two field goal-game by Keaton was the second in his career--the first was last year at UVa.-Wise.
Meanwhile, senior punter
Garrett Lee had one of his best games at Concord versus Shepherd.
Lee got off five punts for an average of 51.4, just 0.1 off his single-game best for average that came against UNC-Pembroke last season.
Lee punted the ball 61 yards twice against the Rams, and is 0.1 behind Fort Hays State's Dante Brown for the national lead in punting average at 45.6.
CAUTION: EXPLOSIVE
Fulton found sophomore wide receiver
Camari Murray for a 53-yard touchdown against Shepherd.
It was the longest play of the season for the Mountain Lions, nearly doubling the previous long of 29.
The 53-yard pitch-and-catch was the longest play for CU since last November at West Virginia State when Novak hooked up with
Davon McGill on a 76-yard touchdown score.
Murray's 18.9 yards per reception is fifth best in the MEC among players with at least 10 catches this season.
ERROR FREE
Concord is tied for first in the league in fewest penalties per game with Notre Dame.
Both teams are committing just seven penalties per game.
Additionally, the Mountain Lions are second in the league in penalty yards per contest at 65.4, trailing only Charleston's 61.8 yards per game.
Meanwhile, CU's opponents are averaging 114.2 penalty yards per game.
Only UVa.-Wise's opponents are totaling up more than 100 yards per game in penalties along with Concord.
Despite being -2 in turnover margin against Shepherd, the Mountain Lions are still tied for the conference lead in turnover margin (+7) with Fairmont State.
The Maroon and Gray is tied for 13th nationally in the stat. Furthermore, Concord is tied for 17th in fewest turnovers lost with five--all fumbles.
Only Indiana (Pa.), Kutztown, Ohio Dominican and Shepherd have fewer turnovers in Super Region One.
DOWN TO THE WIRE
The last two meetings between Concord and Glenville State haven't been decided until the final minutes of the game.
Two seasons ago, GSC scored with 16 seconds remaining in the game to escape with a 30-25 win.
CU did have a Hail Mary attempt broken up as time expired.
Even though Glenville State won 19-8 last season at Callaghan Stadium, the game was played within one possession until a field goal by GSC with 11 minutes left pushed it to a 11-point lead.
Sophomore running back
JaVaughan Burrus scored his lone career touchdown against the Pioneeers last season.
Junior linebacker
Zach Malone notched 15 tackles and one of his four career forced fumbles in last season's game.
