PLAYOFF SCENARIOS
With a win in one of its final two games, Concord will lock up the third seed.
To start the week, CU is five points ahead of Charleston and six points in front of Shepherd. Both teams, UC and Shepherd, are chasing the final spot. Concord could also secure the three seed with two ties this week.
West Virginia Wesleyan has clinched the number one seed and the MEC regular season title while Notre Dame is locked into the two spot.
RECORDS
The Mountain Lions are 10-6 overall and 8-6 against MEC competition.
Meanwhile, Shepherd is 4-5-6 this season and 4-4-6 in the conference.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord enters Wednesday's matchup on a five-game winning, the longest winning streak for a Concord team since winning eight in a row during the 2012 season.
The 2012 season is also the last time Concord played in the conference postseason before clinching a berth with a 3-0 win over Fairmont State Sunday.
Head coach
Luke Duffy has tripled the win total from the 2016 season when CU won just three games and by winning the final two regular season games, the Mountain Lions would quadruple last season's victory count.
In the 3-0 win over FSU, Concord recorded its seventh shutout of the season and sixth of the season for freshman goalkeeper
Katie Maher.
The Blackburn, England native has a goals against average of 1.19 which currently ranks fourth in single-season program history.
CU's back line defense made Maher's job easy versus the Fighting Falcons as junior
Joanna Aiello, freshman
Morgan Carmichael, sophomore
Ali Cook and freshman
Alyssa Mahar allowed FSU to take two shots and just one on goal.
Junior
Pilar Elias starts the week as the reigning MEC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick last week against Wheeling Jesuit.
Elias is tied for second in the conference in points with 19. The last CU player to score 20 or more points in a season was Kari Simon in 2015.
Freshman forward
Sarah Hill is right behind Elias with 16 point after notching an assist against Fairmont State.
Though Elias and Hill each have seven goals this season, Concord has had 10 different players find the back of the net including freshman forward
Sara Bane, sophomore defender
Delaney Crumblish, Elias, Hill, freshman midfielder
Yasmin Mosby and freshman midfielder
Courtney Wallace all with multiple goals.
Elias scored CU's only goal in a 2-1 defeat at Shepherd earlier this season. Last time the teams met at Concord fired 20 shots, but the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Elias and sophomore forward
Megan Walsh each had two shots on goal in the contest.
SHEPHERD AT A GLANCE
The Rams have either lost or tied in their last five matches. SU's last win came on October 3, a 3-1 win over Wheeling Jesuit.
Samantha Leonard has a team-best three goals this season to go along with one assist. Two of her three goals came against CU.
