Nick Loftin ran for 54 yards in last week's contest.
It was the first time two CU ball carriers ran for 50 or more yards in the same game since November 5, 2016 at West Virginia State.

SETTING UP SHOP
Freshman wide receiver
Tywan Pearce left his impression on the Glenville State with his run backs on kickoffs.
Despite catching just one pass for seven yards, Pearce averaged 28.5 yards per kickoff return in four attempts on the road.
On two of his returns, the Mountain Lions started either at midfield or inside Glenville State territory.
Pearce's 28.5 yards per return was the best single-game average for a Concord player since senior defensive back
Chaudlier Shepherd averaged 32.3 yards yards on three returns versus UVa.-Wise last season.
Overall, the Kissimmee, Florida native is averaging 25.4 yards on nine kickoff returns in his first season of collegiate football.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Since the 2009 season, the Mountain Lions have enjoyed a myriad of success on Homecoming.
Before narrowly losing to Notre Dame last season, 14-10,
Concord had won seven straight Homecoming contests. During the streak was a 38-7 win over West Virginia State in 2011.
In the run of success on the Homecoming, CU has defeated Seton Hill, Glenville State, WVSU, Fairmont State, Urbana and UVa.-Wise.
The only team Concord beat multiple times in the last decade on Homecoming was Glenville State (2010 and 2012).
The Mountain Lions will look to add West Virginia State to that list.
Some of the memorable Homecoming performances since 2014 include Petty racking up 99 all-purpose yards in 2014 versus Urbana when he also caught a touchdown pass.
Shepherd has two intercpetions on Homecoming in his career including a pick for a score in 2015 versus UVa.-Wise.
Last year, junior linebacker
Zach Malone recorded 11 tackles and forced and recovered the same fumble on Homecoming while sophomore wide receiver
Brandon Plyler added 61 yards receiving.

The Mountain Lions have scored at least 45 points in each of its last three meetings with West Virginia State.
Last year, the teams combined for 97 points and 1,202 yards--each team had 601 yards of offense as CU lost 52-45.
In the last three meetings, Concord has netted 601, 490 and 585 yards of offense against the Yellow Jackets.

The Pearisburg, Virginia native pinned the Pioneers inside the 20-yard line twice.
Lee has punted inside the 20-yard line 17 times this season which is just two off his single-season career set last season.
Lee is fourth in Division II in punting average at 45.2 yards heading into this week.
WEST VIRGINIA STATE AT A GLANCE
Saturday's game will be a reunion of former students and athletes alike at Concord, but on the opposing side will be two coaches with significant ties to CU that will be reunited with old friends.
Head coach John Pennington is in his first season at West Virginia State after serving as offensive coordinator for the Yellow Jackets for the last two seasons.
Pennington was an offensive assistant at CU from 2011-2014--on the same staff with head coach
Paul Price.
Concord record-setting quarterback
Brian Novak is now a memober of the WVSU staff after exhausting his time in Athens last season.
Four-year starting quarterback Matt Kinnick has thrown 15 touchdowns this season, second in the MEc.
His top target is Quinton Gray who has caught eight scores.
WVSU is scoring 36.7 points per game, but giving up 36.0 points per contest.
