Miller Continues Pro Baseball Career in Frontier League

ATHENS, W.Va. – Former Concord University All-American baseball player Joey Miller recently signed his third professional contract with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the independent Frontier League.

After completing his eligibility at Concord in the spring of 2014, Miller played for the Roswell (N.M.) Invaders of the Pecos League before spending last season with the Les Aigles de Trois Rivieres of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.

This past summer, Miller hit a combined .403 with 23 home runs and 81 RBI while playing for both Roswell and Trois Rivieres. Miller earned an all-star game selection in the Pecos League with his numbers that included 21 home runs and 75 RBI in 46 games.

Miller was a consensus All-American at Concord as a senior as he hit .390 with 13 home runs and 71 RBI. The Hagerstown, Maryland native was a part of CU's WVIAC Championship team in 2013, and helped the 2014 team to a program record 38 wins.

The Windy City Thunderbolts are located in Crestwood, Illinois and open the 2017 schedule May 12 against the Washington Wild Things.
