ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team begins a four-match home stand 7:00 p.m. Friday against West Virginia State before hosting Charleston 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Heading into the penultimate weekend of Mountain East Conference play, Concord is 15-13 overall and 6-6 in league action.
CU is a game behind sixth-place teams West Liberty and Notre Dame and a game ahead of UVa.-Wise for eighth place.
Prior to Friday's match, Concord will honor four players who will be celebrating Senior Night, middle hitter
Alexis Elliott, libero
Nicci Hutzell, outside hitter
Lisette Roldan and middle hitter
Lauren Richardson.
Elliott and Roldan will be graduating early as juniors while Hutzell and Richardson have spent the last four seasons at Concord.
Elliott has played in 83 matches and has notched 377 kills and 162 blocks in her career. The Napoleon, Michigan native recorded a career-best 177 kills as a sophomore in 2015.
With two more blocks this season, Elliott would amass 50 or blocks in each of her three seasons at CU.
After redshirting in 2013, Hutzell has appeared in 73 matches for the Mountain Lions.
Hutzell has collected 307 digs and 21 service aces in her career. The Front Royal, Virginia native was a part of two Mountain East Conference quarterfinal tournament squads in 2013 and 2014.
Roldan will be playing in her 70th match at CU.
Roldan has rolled up 300 kills and 168 digs for the Mountain Lions in her time. Last season, the Griffith, Indiana native totaled 152 kills.
Richardson has seen action in 82 matches over the last four seasons, tallying 144 kills and 144 blocks.
The time out for the Mountain Lions they fell in five sets at UVa.-Wise.
Freshman middle hitter
Emily Ellis tallied a career-best 14 kills while tying her single-game best with eight blocks.
Ellis is fifth in the MEC in blocks per set (1.05) and with 101 blocks Ellis becomes the first CU player to record 100 or more blocks in a season since assistant coach
Sarah Jones had 111 blocks two seasons ago.
Speaking of blocks, junior middle hitter
Shea Hoffman is two blocks away from entering the career top 10 at CU.
The Charleston, West Virginia native has 219 blocks in her time at Concord.
In addition to Ellis hitting career marks at UVa.-Wise, freshman setter
Jenna Mounts notched 25 assists to establish a new personal best.
On Tuesday night, sophomore libero
Erin Shannon went over 1,000 digs for her career.
The Frankfort, Illinois native now has 1,012 digs for career as she continues to lead the MEC in digs per set (5.29).
Earlier this season, Concord split a pair of matches against Charleston and West Virginia State.
The Mountain Lions were defeated in three sets by UC, but bested West Virginia State in five sets.
Sophomore middle hitter
Brooke Heck led the way for the Mountain Lions with 10 kills while Shannon collected 33 digs.
Before her 25 assists at UVa.-Wise, Mounts' career high in assists was the 24 she handed out at West Virginia State.
SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA STATE
The Yellow Jackets have posted a 6-18 overall record and are 3-9 in the MEC.
Rebekah Baldwin has 140 kills and 51 blocks on the season for WVSU.
Earlier in the season, Taylor Allbritton had 13 kills and 12 digs versus Concord.
SCOUTING CHARLESTON
Charleston is 23-9 overall and 11-1 in the league.
The Golden Eagles have limited their opponents to a .134 hitting percentage, second best in the MEC.
Carly Granger had 10 kills in the first contest against CU this season.
