Junior defender
Sarah Akers notched her first goal of the season against Notre Dame College last Saturday.

The free kick goal gives the Beckley, West Virginia native her third career goal.Â
Â
Akers has proven effective from set pieces, as two of her three goals have come from free kicks, and she also has notched an assist this season from a direct kick.  Â

Akers assist proved to be an important one, as freshman forward
Megan Walsh managed to tap home the rebound off of Akers free kick to give Concord a 1-0 result against the Blue Knights at Urbana this season.Â

Through ten games this season, five Concord players have played and started in all 10: Akers, junior midfielder
Micharae Thompson, senior defender

Joanna Aiello, sophomore
Alison Backel, as well as contributions from freshman
Taylor Life, junior
Carley Graves, senior
Olivia Reilly, sophomore
Shannon Barajas, and sophomore
Katelyn Gibbs have allowed just one goal per game this season.Â
Â
Simpkins has combined to make 21 saves over the past two games, enough to move her into fourth all-time in Concord history.    Â
Â
Concord drew 0-0 with Shepherd in Athens earlier this season, outshooting the Rams 20-5 in that contest.       Â
Â
The Mountain Lions drew the Rams 1-1 in Shepherdstown last season; sophomore midfielder
Pilar Elias netted the Mountain Lions only goal.Â
