Billy Cosh Named Quarterbacks Coach

ATHENS, W.Va. – Former Butler Community College and University of Houston quarterback Billy Cosh has been added to the Concord football coaching staff to coach quarterbacks, head coach Garin Justice announced Wednesday.

Cosh makes the jump from playing to coaching after graduating from Houston this spring with a degree in sociology. After a very successful career at Butler, Cosh earned a spot at Division I Houston. At Butler, Cosh led the school to the NJCCA National Championship in his only season in 2012 while racking up 2,856 yards and 25 touchdowns. Cosh was tutored by current Concord offensive coordinator Tony Haynes in his time at Butler when Haynes was the offensive play caller there.

Out of high school, Cosh was a three-star prospect from Annapolis, Maryland, breaking the Maryland state record for passing yards in a season (3,913), passing touchdowns (56) and completions (292). Cosh is also the career record holder in Maryland high school football with 112 passing touchdowns during his playing days.

Before Butler and Houston, Cosh redshirted one season at Kansas State. He is the son of North Texas defensive coordinator Chris Cosh, who has also coached at Buffalo, Illinois, Kansas State, Maryland Michigan State, South Carolina and USF.

At Concord, Cosh will be coaching All-MEC first team quarterback Brian Novak as well as incoming freshman quarterback Steven Cropp.
