ATHENS, W.Va. - The Concord University Women's Soccer Team will play its final home game of the season when they take on the University of Charleston Golden Eagles at Anderson Field 12:00 p.m Sunday.
The match is an important one for both Concord and Charleston since both still have scenarios in play that could change the outlook of the Mountain East Conference Playoff race.
PLAYOFF SCENARIOSConcord trails Shepherd by five points with three games remaining for both teams in conference play. Shepherd currently holds the final playoff spot in the Mountain East. In order to qualify for the playoffs, Concord must win: 1) at least two of its next three games 2) win two games and tie one game 3) win all three of their remaining games. In addition to this,
Concord must hope for Shepherd to either: 1) Lose its three remaining games, 2) Shepherd draw its three remaining games and Concord reach 24 points with three wins, or 3) Shepherd to go 1-2 and the Mountain Lions win their remaining three games.
