ATHENS, W.Va - The Concord University men's soccer team fell 3-1 to the visiting Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals on Thursday afternoon at Anderson Field.
Concord drops to 3-10 on the season, while Wheeling improves to 6-6-1 on the year.
WJU opened up the scoring early on thanks to two corner kicks eight minutes apart in the 13
th and 21
st minute.

Jonathan Hardman responded just four minutes after the second goal getting his heel to flick the ball in the far corner off of a low cross from sophomore midfielder
Mahamadou Coulibaly. Senior goalkeeper
Mitchell Thompson made several big saves to keep the deficit to one goal, and totaled seven saves on the day.
The Cardinals added a third goal with just seconds remaining in the match.
Overall, the Cardinals outshot the Mountain Lions 16-4, and held an edge in shots on target 10-1. The Cardinals also held the advantage in corner kicks 8-3.
Concord will next host Findlay University at home on October 20
th. The game will be Senior Day for the Mountain Lions. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
