MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• Senior running back Calvinaugh Jones steered the Concord offense against the Cavaliers as he rushed for 260 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

• In the process, Jones went over 4,000 yards rushing for his career and also passed former Concord great Chris Hairston on the all-time rushing list at CU.

• The Glen Burnie, Maryland now has 4,119 yards for his career and needs 69 yards to pass former Mountain Lions runner Brian Kennedy for first on the all-time rushing yards list at Concord.

• Junior quarterback Brian Novak finished his afternoon versus UVa.-Wise with 221 yards passing and two touchdowns.

• The first touchdown that Novak completed to sophomore wide receiver TJ Smith was Novak's 50th passing touchdown.

• Saturday was the 15th multi-passing touchdown of Novak's Concord career.

• Defensively, the Mountain Lions stalled the offense of the Cavaliers all game long.

• Concord held UVa.-Wise's rushing attack to minus-9 yards on the ground and forced four turnovers for the game.

• Junior linebacker Denis Ikic, redshirt freshman defensive back Cameron Kerley and senior defensive lineman Brandon Taylor all forced their first career fumble while sophomore defensive back Chaudlier Shepherd scored his first career touchdown on a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown.

• The defensive score for the Mountain Lions was the first of the season.

• Furthermore, the rushing defense had the ninth best performance among Division II teams in a single game by holding the Cavaliers to minus-9 on the ground.

• Senior defensive end Ervin Moore led the attack as he racked up two sacks and three tackles for loss resulting in 21 yards lost.

• Moore is 16th in career sacks among active Division II pass rushers with 19 and seeks to become the second player in Concord history with 20 quarterback takedowns, joining Terrence Lee.

• Speaking of one of the elites in Division II, senior kicker Andy Ellington and Jones are fifth in the nation in field goals made in a career and rushing yards in a career among active Division II players.

• Ellington has made 44 field goals in his career and is just one behind Tarleton State's Blake Barnes for fourth among active players.

• Meanwhile, Jones' 4,119 rushing yards are more than 300 yards clear of sixth place, Minnesota State-Mankato's Connor Thomas.

• And Jones sits 600 yards behind the fourth active career rusher, Glenville State's Rahmann Lee.

• The win over UVa.-Wise inched head coach Garin Justice to 40 career wins at Concord.

• Justice is 39-14 in his Mountain Lions coaching career.

• With his next win, Justice would join James Callaghan, Tony Colobro, Bob Mullett and Don Williams as CU head coaches with at least 40 wins in their CU head coaching career.

• Concord has faced Notre Dame just twice all-time, but has outscored the Falcons 81-28 in the two meetings in 2013 and 2014.

• Last season at Callaghan Stadium, Smith had a career day as he caught eight passes for 212 yards and scored three touchdowns.

• It's the only time in Smith's career that he has amassed 200 or more receiving yards.

• Additionally, last year's meeting with Notre Dame is Smith's only three touchdown performance in two-plus season in the Maroon and Gray.

• Smith enters Saturday's game in Ohio carrying a streak of three straight games with a touchdown catch.

• A scoring reception against NDC this season would be the longest streak of Smith's career with at least one touchdown at four consecutive games.

• Jones also ripped off 188 yards rushing and one touchdown.

• In last year's game versus NDC, Concord broke up a season-best nine passes with sophomore defensive back Jeremiah Johnson batting down three passes.

•  Johnson also led the Mountain Lions in tackles last season against Notre Dame as he collected six tackles.

• In the two all-time meetings with the Falcons, Concord has picked off four passes and has held NDC to an average of 238 yards passing.

SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
• Although Notre Dame is 1-5, the schedule has not been kind to the Falcons in the first half of the season.

• The five teams that have beaten the Falcons have a combined record of 20-9 and includes a loss to Division I FCS School Robert Morris (Pa.).

• Notre Dame boasts the MEC's fourth-best rushing attack behind dual-threat quarterback Malik Grove and running back D.J. Greene.

• In fact, Grove is third in the league in rushing with 562 yards, ranking behind Jones and Lee

• Greene is sixth in the MEC in rushing with 488 yards.

• Groves has also passed for 1,483 yards and 11 touchdowns, making the league's leader in total offense from scrimmage with 2,045.

• Grove's top target receiving is All-MEC performer from a season ago, Mitchell Shegos.

• Shegos has caught 39 passes for 496 and five touchdowns.

• Notre Dame has given up the second fewest sacks this season, 46.

• Notre Dame's Zach Chatlain is the MEC's fourth-leading tackler having been credited with 61 stops this season.

• The Falcons defense as a whole is giving up 34.0 points per game and 430.5 yards per game, ranking ninth and eighth in the MEC in those categories, respectively.

A CONCORD WIN WOULD...
• A Concord win over Notre Dame would run CU's winning streak over NDC to three games.

• A Concord win would give CU its seventh-straight season of five or more win
