RECORDS• The Mountain Lions are 5-3 this season while BSC is 3-6.
THE COACHES•
Kent McBride is 46-47 in the midst of his fourth season at Concord. With two more wins, the former Concord point guard will tie Buck Jamison for sixth on the all-time wins list.
• BSC's Jamal Jackson is 15-67 at BSC in four years at the school.
SERIES HISTORY• Concord has won 34 of 41 all-time meetings with the Blues going 34-7.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTESClimbing the Ranks• Heading into Monday's contest, senior point guard
Mike Boyd ranks 32
nd in career points scored (1,064). By scoring 11 points, the Cincinnati, Ohio native can move into the top 30 in points scored, passing Thad Breckenridge (1993-95) and Cory Willard (2008-2012) along the way.
• If Boyd hands out two assists, he will be the seventh member of the 400-assist club in school history, Boyd would be the second Mountain Lion to have 1,000 points and 400 assists in his career, joining Randy Jennings (1978-1982).
Setting Career Highs• Sophomore guard
Aaron Miller has scored 160 points this season. He could surpass his career season-high in points by scoring seven points against BSC. As a freshman, the Stephen City, Virginia native posted 160 points his freshman season. This season, Miller is averaging 20.0 points per game which is fourth in the Mountain East Conference.
• Against West Virginia Wesleyan December 7, Miller pulled down a personal-best nine rebounds as he narrowly missed his first career double-double.
Posting Double-Doubles• All of last season, Concord had four double-doubles in 29 games. In 2014, the Mountain Lions have six teams double-doubles with junior forward
Jametrius Wade leading the way with three. Junior forward
Terry Hopewell (two) and Boyd (one) have combined for the other three.
• Wade is third in the league in rebounding as he is averaging 8.4 boards per contest this season.
Spark Off the Bench• Junior guard
Rob Reed has established himself as the best option off of head coach
Kent McBride's bench scoring in double-figures in three of the last four contest for CU.
• In the matchup with WVWC, Reed led the Mountain Lions with a career-high four steals.
Hot Shooting Continues• Concord has shot at least 43 percent in every game this season. The Mountain Lions haven't shot 43 percent or higher in even five straight games was from Jan. 12-Jan. 28, 2012.
Ahead of Last Year's Pace• At 5-3, the Mountain Lions have a chance to win their sixth game of the season before the end of the year of the calendar. A season ago, Concord didn't win their sixth game until Jan. 30.
Success Against Bluefield State• McBride is 6-1 against the Blues in his career against Concord.
• Boyd has averaging 14.4 points per game against BSC in seven career games and has scored in double figures in all but one matchup.
• In Concord's 86-64 win at BSC earlier this season, Miller (20), Wade (20), Boyd (15) and Reed (12) all finished with 10 more points as Concord shot a season-high 60 percent (33-for-55) from the field.
