Carey Signs with Steel City Menace

PUEBLO, Colo. – Former Concord University football defensive back Mike Carey has signed to play with the Steel City Menace of the American Indoor Football Association, the organization announced over the weekend.

During his time at CU, Carey was a First Team All-Mountain East selection in 2014 as well as a consensus all-region interception after he picked off four passes his senior season. In his career, Carey ranks eighth in Concord history with nine interceptions.

The Norfolk, Virginia native was instrumental in the Mountain Lions' run to the Division II semifinals in 2014 as he shut down one side of the field in the opponents' passing game.

The Steel City Menace are based in Pueblo, Colorado and are part of 22-team league in the AIF. The 2016 season will be the first season for the Menace in the league and they will start play in mid-March.
