FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Sophomore
Violet Wall of the Concord University women's cross country team has been selected as the Mountain East Conference Athlete, presented by The Health Plan, the league office released Monday afternoon.
Wall, a native of Pearisburg, Virginia, was CU's top finisher at the Hokie Invite hosted by Virginia Tech Friday. Wall clocked a time of 17:08 for the 4,400-meter course at VT as she finished 15
th overall. She was the second non-Division I finisher across the line as she helped the Mountain Lions to a fourth-place team finish.
Wall has been Concord's number one runner in each of the seven races she has run in the Maroon and Gray.
CU is off from action this weekend as it will next compete at the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Alabama September 18. Â
