BELLE VERNON, Pa. – The Concord University men's golf team finished sixth at the Cal Vulcan Invite at Cedarbrook Golf Course.

The tournament concluded Friday as it was supposed to be a 54-hole tournament, but was shortened to 36 holes due to severe weather in the area.

CU fired team rounds of 300 and 291. The second-round score was the lowest for Concord since the fall of 2023.

Sophomore Henry Lewis had the best tournament in his career with rounds of 71 and 70. He shot -3 for the tournament and finished in a three-way tie for fifth. Lewis had three birdies in each round, and nearly had a bogey-free second round with just bogey. He started the tournament with a birdie on the first hole, the 10th hole and 15th hole before following it up with red numbers on the fourth, eighth and 12th holes in the second round.

Junior Jonah Willson was steady throughout with a 75 in round one and a 74 in the second round. He carded a total of four birdies, two in each round. Willson's score of 149 was good enough for a top-25 finish. Sophomore Jackson Willson was a stroke back at 150 (76, 74) as he tied for 30th. Williams had three birdies with two coming in the first round.

Freshman Leo Walton totaled 151 (78, 73) to tie for 35th in the field of 85. He ripped off three straight birdies during the second round on the ninth, 10th and 11th holes. Fellow freshman Austin Brianka had scores of 79 and 77. And freshman Landon Lindsey scored 164 (84, 80).

Cal U was the team winner with a score of 567 (283, 283). Gavin Goodrich of Cal won with a total of 137.

Concord is back on the course September 9-10 at the University of Charleston Invite.
