BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Concord University men's cross country team placed fourth at the Hokie Invite Friday night at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
Concord finished with 85 points as it played four of its five scoring runners in the top 25, finishing with 85 points.
Junior
Reese Hickey paced the Mountain Lions by finishing ninth with a time of 18:48 for the 6,000-meter course. Fellow junior
Brandon Canaday came through in 19:04 as he placed 16
th. Sophomore
Johnny Walkup was four spots and 10 seconds behind Canaday as he claimed the final spot in the top 20.
Senior
Bramley Childress ran 19:29 which was good enough for 26
th, but top 25 in the scoring. Fellow senior
Andrew Tickle placed 30
th in a time of 19:39. The final two scorers for the Mountain Lions were freshmen
Ben Tenney (50
th) and
Oliver Jamieson (52
nd) as they ran 20:43 and 20:45, respectively.
