BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer scored a 2-0 Mountain East Conference victory on the road against Salem Sunday afternoon at The Bridge Sports Complex.
 
Concord (4-1-2, 2-1 MEC) is now unbeaten in its last four matches after downing Salem (2-3-2, 1-2-1 MEC) by two goals.
 
The game was even through the first 40 minutes as neither team generated many chances until the final five minutes of the first half as freshman midfielder Josiah Ochoa stayed in the goal column for the second straight game when his 42nd-minute goal was assisted by junior defender Neko Worthy.
 
The second half saw the Mountain Lions double their lead in the 69th minute. Sophomore midfielder Koya Nakamura scored his team-leading third goal of the season to put away the Tigers. Freshman midfielder Mario Bedford and freshman defender Ricardo Kabawanga combined on the assist. For Bedford, he has secured a goal or assist in each of the last three matches.
 
CU was able to hold off Salem in the second half as the Tigers outshot Concord 8-4 after halftime, and 13-10 for the game.
 
Ochoa and freshman forward Louis Learoyd both tallied two shots in the contest for the Mountain Lions. SU held an edge in corner kicks, 7-4.
 
Junior goalkeeper Iori Tanaka collected three saves in the match in the fourth clean sheet of the season for Concord.
 
Concord returns home for an MEC matchup with Point Park Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Callaghan Stadium.
