ROANOKE, W.Va. – The Concord University men's golf team finished 12
th at the Wally Edgell Invitational that wrapped up Tuesday at the Arnold Palmer Course at Stonewall Resort.
Concord shot 317 and 309 during the first two rounds Monday before combining for a 315 in the third round Tuesday.
Junior
Jonah Willson continued his steady play this fall with rounds of 74, 77 and 75 as his final score of 226 was tied for 30
th in the 101-player field. Sophomore
Henry Lewis was 10 strokes back as he fired rounds of 81, 76 and 79.
After a tough start to the tournament with an 84 in the first round, sophomore
Jackson Williams bounced back with a 74 in the second round. He finished with a total of 239. The final scorer for CU was freshman
Leo Walton who scored 242.
Sophomore
Dylan Canterbury led the Concord second team with a score of 227. The Princeton, West Virginia native carded all three rounds under 80 (79, 73, 75). The round of 73 was a career low for Canterbury.
Bluefield State's Joseph Emery was the individual medalist with a score of 211.
Glenville State was the team winner with a three-round total of 868.
CU will be off until the Mountain East Conference Championship October 4-6 at Stonewall Resort.
