Chloe Thompson of the Concord University volleyball team have all been named to the Concord Classic All-Tournament Team that was released Saturday evening at the conclusion of the tournament.
Anderson recorded 21 kills and 19 blocks in 13 sets of play over the weekend in helping the Mountain Lions go 4-0 Friday and Saturday at the Carter Center. She had seven kills in each win over Elizabeth City State, and capped the weekend with five killsno errors in seven swings versus Bluefield State while tossing in a season-high seven blocks. She is second in the MEC in blocks per set (1.07).
Davis was the lone libero on the Concord Classic All-Tournament Team. The Jonesborough, Tennessee native racked up 75 digs in 13 sets. Her tournament high came in the four-set win over when she recorded 25 digs. She added 19 more digs in a sweep of ECSU Saturday morning while throwing in 17 digs to close the tournament versus Bluefield State. Davis vaulted up to second in the MEC in digs per set (5.11) with her performance this weekend.
Thompson was one of Concord's most consistent offensive threat throughout the four matches. She had 38 kills and hit .254 in just over 100 attack attempts. She opened the tournament with eight kills in 13 swings that was done without an error. Thompson added 13 more kills in a win over Elizabeth City State Friday. And the Cool Ridge, West Virginia native nearly had a double-double with eight kills and nine digs against Bluefield State.
