ATHENS, W.Va. – Sophomore
Alexandria Denny of the Concord University women's golf team has earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, the organization released Tuesday afternoon.
Denny, a native of Mount Hope, West Virginia, sports a near perfect GPA of 3.95 as a social work major. She has been on the All-Mountain East Conference Academic Team twice in her career, and a member of the Concord's Dean's List in all four semesters of her collegiate career.
On the course, Denny helped the Mountain Lions to a fourth-place as a team at the MEC Championship in October—it matched the highest team finish for CU at the conference tournament in program history. Individually, Denny was a top-25 placer at the MEC Championship.
Denny averaged 102.0 this season while playing all 20 rounds during the fall and spring seasons. She had a career-best 87 in the first round of the Golden Eagle Invite hosted by Clarion in September. Denny's best finish of the year was an eighth-place showing at the Pipestem Collegiate in the fall.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and play in 75 percent of rounds OR be in the lineup at the conference championship.
