SENIOR SEVEN
Between games Saturday afternoon, head coach
Alisa Tasler and the CU softball program will recognize seven seniors:
Josi Ervin,
Alina Giles,
Morgan Gleason,
Madison Hollis,
Mikayla Hose,
Lacie Lewis and
Kayla Sholter. The four-year seniors have amassed 89 wins since the start of the 2023 season. Lewis appears in the Concord record books for top 10 in hits (186), home runs (23), doubles (42) and RBI (101). Lewis is just one of four players in program history with 40 or more doubles and 20 or more home runs. Hollis has been consistent in the circle as she ranks top 10 at Concord in wins (30)—just one of three pitchers with 30 or more wins in program history, innings pitched (345.1) and appearances (72). Gleason leads active players in games played with 172 and is just outside the top 10 in career stolen bases at CU (32). Sholter has suited in 102 games while Giles has played in 85 games in two years and Ervin 80 in three seasons. Hose has seen the field since transferring from Davis & Elkins prior to the 2025 season.
KEEP DEALIN'
Sophomore pitcher
Reghan Hintz finished one strikeout shy of her career high at West Liberty with nine strikeouts against the Hilltoppers Sunday afternoon. The Melfa, Virginia native went over 100 strikeouts for the season as she ranks third in the MEC in strikeout (108). Additionally, Hintz became just the seventh pitcher in program history with a 100-strikeout season. As of late, Hintz has recorded at least three strikeouts in five of her last six starts. And for the season, she has five or more strikeouts in 11 of her 21 appearances. Hintz's ERA of 2.52 ranks eighth in the MEC.
POWER SURGE
Hollis and freshman catcher/infielder
Hannah Niten have combined to hit 10 home runs on the season as Hollis leads Concord with six home runs. Five of Hollis' home runs have come in conference play while all four of Niten's round trippers have been against MEC teams. In eight games in April, Hollis has at least one hit in six games to go with three home runs, 11 RBI and a double. For Niten, her four home runs are the most by a CU freshman since Lewis also had four in 2023. The last Concord freshman with five or more home runs in a season was CU Hall of Fame member Lauren Lewis during the 2014 season when she had seven.
QUIET THE BATS
The Mountain Lions will face two of the most potent offenses in the MEC in Frostburg State and Fairmont State this weekend. Frostburg State leads the conference in batting average (.341) while Fairmont State is second (.337). Additionally, the top two home run hitters in the MEC visit Athens this weekend in Fairmont State's Breonna Marietta (nine) and Frostburg State's Arden Miller (eight). Concord is 15-5 this season when holding the opposition to three runs or fewer, but two of those losses came last weekend on the road, 2-1 at Wheeling and 1-0 at West Liberty. Hintz has a 1.58 ERA in conference play while Hollis is just below three at 2.95.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Under first-year head coach Guy Robertson, Frostburg State has more than doubled its win total from last year of 13 wins with 29 victories in 2026. Ally Myers and Izabella Donaldson complements Miller as each have six home runs. The top six hitters for FSU are batting over .360 on the season. Donaldson is 12-1 in the circle with a 1.90 ERA. Izzy Dietrich has picked up 10 wins as a pitcher and has a 2.95 ERA.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING FALCONS
Not only is Fairmont State one of the best hitting teams in the MEC, the Fighting Falcons have the most stolen bases in the MEC with 79. Bella Hess has 27 steals while Avery Townsend is up to 17 stolen bases. Emma Paul leads FSU with 38 RBI which is second in the conference this spring. Similar to Frostburg State, the Fighting Falcons have seven players hitting over .350. Delaney Haller paces the FSU pitching as she has a 1.68 ERA and a 9-2 record in the circle.
