SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior forward Abbie Smith of the Concord University women's basketball team has been voted as the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Atlantic Region Player of the Year, the organization announced Thursday morning.

Smith becomes the first regional player of the year in program history, and only the fourth female athlete in the history of Concord Athletics to be a regional athlete of the year in their respective sport.

The Little Hocking, Ohio native averaged 18.8 points and 10.9 rebounds in 29 games this winter. She led the Mountain East Conference in field-goal percentage (57.0), free-throw percentage (85.7) and rebounding. She finished second in the league in scoring. Among regional players, she was top five in scoring, rebounding, field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage and blocks.

Smith recorded 18 double-doubles with 12 of those being 20-point double-doubles. She notched her first career 20-20 game February 14 at Davis & Elkins with 22 points and 21 rebounds. In the first game of the season against Seton Hill, Smith netted a season-best 29 points which was one shy of her career—she started the season with four straight 20-point games.

She saved her best performances for the end of the season as six of her 20-point performances came in the final nine games of the season. Smith had 15 total 20-point games during the 2025-26 season.

Last season, Smith was a member of the D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team. She is the second straight MEC player to be named D2CCA Atlantic Regional Player of the Year after Fairmont State's Leslie Huffman earned the distinction last year.

Smith is now up for consideration for D2CCA National Player of the Year as well as D2CCA All-American honors.
