SALEM, W.Va. - The Concord University women's basketball team bounced back with a wire-to-wire 68-51 win at Salem Wednesday night in a non-conference contest at Davis Gymnasium.

CU (13-7) scored the first six points of the game as senior forward
Abbie Smith and sophomore guard
Kenyah Stubbs combined for the early scoring.

The lead was extended out to 16-5 at the end of the first quarter with the help with two three-pointers by freshman guard
Lacee Smith.

Concord kept its foot on the gas, going 7-for-13 from the field in the second quarter, while holding Salem to 4-for-17 from the floor in the period.

The Mountain Lions continued to pile it on, with six different scorers finding the hoop in the third quarter. This included Smich, A. Smith, Stubbs, junior guard
Alexis Frazee, senior forward Olviia Ziolkowski and senior guard
Kennedy Scales.

By the end of the third, CU was up 54-30.

The final quarter saw Concord dive into its bench and get the starters some much needed rest as nobody played more than 25 minutes in the victory.

With the even distribution in the minutes column, ten different Mountain Lions scored in the game.

Abbie Smith topped the charts with 17 points and seven rebounds. She shot 5-for-6 from the field, 6-for-6 at the foul line and made her only three-point in the game, a second-quarter left wing try. L. Smith followed suit with nine points, all coming by way of the triple. Stubbs finished with eight points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Including the Smiths and Stubbs, eight different players netted at least six points in the contest.

Kiley Smich tallied six points, a game-best four assists and two steals. Senior forward
Olivia Ziolkowski threw in six points, seven rebounds and three steals. Scales, A. Smith and Ziolkowski all had seven rebounds as CU held a 48-42 rebounding edge.

Defensively, the Mountain Lions held Salem to 27.7 percent from the floor—the lowest shooting percentage for any Concord opponent this season.

Concord returns home ahead of a three game homestand, starting with Point Park this Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
