WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team won its sixth straight game with 1-0 triumph at West Liberty in a Mountain East Conference road contest at the West Family Athletic Complex Wednesday night.

With the win, the nationally-ranked, 19
th-rated Mountain Lions (9-1-2, 8-1 MEC) swept through the MEC North with the victory over West Liberty (5-4-1, 3-4 MEC) in a game with limited offensive chances.

The Mountain Lions got on the goal sheet first for the sixth straight match in a row. In the 21st minute, freshman midfielder
Josiah Ochoa scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season to put CU in front.

Concord continued to dominate the first half, not allowing the Hilltoppers to get a shot off in the opening 45 minutes.

In the second half, it was Concord's defense that held on to protect the lead. Junior goalkeeper
Iori Tanaka made a flurry of brilliant saves, including a kicksave in the 75th minute to stonewall the Hilltoppers.

WLU outshot CU in the contest, 8-6. Four of the shots were on target for the Mountain Lions. Ochoa recorded three shots (two on goal). Senior forward forward
Dominique Malhomme came off the bench with two shots while junior forward
Lucas Costa accounted for the sixth Concord attempt.

Tanaka tallied six saves in the clean sheet, his eighth of the season.

Concord stays on the road, taking on District of Columbia in a non-conference contest Wednesday, October 14 at 4:00 p.m.
