Concord Piles Up Five Goals in 5-0 Win at Shawnee State

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Concord University women's soccer team posted a 5-0 win in the final regular season game of the year against Shawnee State Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference game at the Shawnee Turf.

The Mountain Lions (5-11-2, 5-9-2 MEC) scored three goals in the first half before netting two scores in the second half.

Junior forward Ailsa Swinburne opened the scoring in the 19th minute as she netted her second goal of the year. Just six minutes later, CU doubled the lead as freshman defender Abigail Torman tapped a pass from the byline to sophomore midfielder Daisy Cook outside the six-yard box for her team-best ninth goal of the year.

Less than three minutes before halftime, Concord tacked on a goal when junior midfielder Eve Harriott one-timed a shot into the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Junior defender Ella Rowell was credited with the assist as she rolled a pass back to Harriott at the top of the penalty area.

Harriott was in the middle of the scoring in the 56th minute when she found senior defender Katie Garratt at the back post on a counter attack, and Garratt took care of her fourth goal of the year.

The final goal for the Mountain Lions came from sophomore defender Molly Watters who struck from outside the penalty box in the 78th minute for her seventh goal of 2026.

Shawnee State (1-13-3, 1-12-3 MEC) did not go without offense as the Bears took 13 shots in the second half, and 16 for the game. Concord registered 24 shots.

Senior goalkeeper Kayla Garza notched nine saves.

Cook, Rowell, Swinburne and Watters all four shots in the contest.
